MN Fellowship of Reconciliation
Campaign (posted June 2004)
Don't Let Your Government Speak for You!
Show and Tell Iraqis How You Feel
Many Americans are distraught over the war in Iraq. The
devastating loss of life, the appalling destruction wrought
by the invasion and ongoing occupation, and most recently,
the revelations of prisoner abuse and torture in Iraq make
our hearts heavy with grief and shame. We don't feel that
the explanations and declarations of our government represent
us. We search for ways to express our feelings.
The Fellowship of Reconciliation-USA
is offering a "people-to-people" opportunity
to communicate our anguish and pain, our prayers for peace,
directly to Iraqis and citizens of the Arab and Muslim
world. We will send photographs of ordinary Americans holding
handwritten messages expressing what is in their hearts:
their grief, compassion and shame, their heartfelt apologies
for what has been done in their name, and their messages
of peace, friendship and common humanity.
FOR asks groups large
and small, young and old, to prepare handwritten messages
in their own words to hold in solemn silence while a photograph
is taken. These photos, identified by town and state, will
be delivered to Arab media outlets for publication and
broadcast in Arab and Muslim countries. We will also exhibit
them for the U.S. media and post them to websites, including
our own.
How can you join in this project? It's easy. Click here

Middle East Peace Now Campaign (posted February
2004):
FAST FORWARD: ISRAEL AND PALESTINE
This is a campaign to get the US administration to take
positive steps toward peace between Israel and Palestine.
Modify this in any way you wish. Any message you send to
Presidentt Bush and/or Secretary Colin Powell will be helpful.
Thanks for whatever you do.
Florence Steichen, 651-696-1642;
It is urgent that we focus our efforts on a dramatic
change in US Policy. The chances for a viable Palestinian
state are getting slimmer by the day as construction of
the separation wall continues to take Palestinian land
and erode the economy by making movement nearly impossible.
We need to get President Bush to insist that Ariel Sharon
really begin to get out of the occupied territories. I
suggest we enlist all our allies to influence the President
and Colin Powell.
See www.cactus48.com
on the Origin of the Palestine-Israel Conflict which makes
it abundantly clear that the Zionist objective is to rid
the land of Arabs.
