An Honorable Withdrawal

Dear Editor,

The war in Iraq is costing us $1 billion a week. To continue that unpopular war, the U.S. taxpayers are asked to spend another $4 billion next month, an amount that surpasses the total contributions of all countries for Tsunami relief to date. Our preemptive strike on Iraq has undermined our credibility around the world. Why don't we announce to the world that for the "greater good", the politics of the war aside, we are withdrawing from Iraq and converting four weeks of war to tsunami relief. What an image-builder! Would the terrorists ever recover?
