A Minnesota Writer in Ukraine

Jared Goyette is a freelance journalist who was based in Minneapolis for over 10 years. He was injured by rubber bullets while covering the George Floyd protests. Together with the ACLU and other journalists, he successfully sued the MN State Patrol. He’s been living in Kyiv for the last couple of months, volunteering with Chytomo, a media organization that supports Ukrainian culture during the war. Jared will be talking, along with a friend from Ukraine, about life in Kyiv, how people are coping, and the importance of arts and culture now in Ukraine.
