In Jackman/Lenmark rooms In America today, asylum seekers and other immigrants are extremely vulnerable to violence inflicted by the U.S. immigration system. PARTICIPANTS WILL EXPLORE: -How the U.S. immigration & asylum system impacts human rights -The capabilities they have within themselves to provide protection for civilians facing violence -How to use nonviolent human rights strategies & tactics to keep vulnerable groups safer & more secure -What resources & legal statutes are in place to protect people seeking refuge -How to report human rights violations & seek justice

 


To strengthen the effectiveness of the peace and justice community in Minnesota by enabling member organizations to share their resources, insights and ideas and devise cooperative strategies to accomplish common goals.
